Management Transition

After many years under private management, the City of West St. Paul is in the process of transitioning management of the WSP Dome to the City Parks Department. As we make this transition, we want to hear from residents and users about how we can improve the Dome's use, appearance, and functionality. At this time, no changes to pricing, reservation processes, or hours of operation are planned. We appreciate SFDMG for their years of support and management of the Dome.

About the Dome

The dome or Regional Athletics Center (RAC) opened in early November 2012. The RAC is a multi-purpose facility for soccer, lacrosse, softball, football, and other indoor play. It is open for walking, jogging, open play, rentals, and occasional programs and events.

Dome Fun Facts:

• At 454 feet long and 244 feet wide, the dome has over 110,000 square feet of space
• Over 18 million pounds of concrete form the 9-foot-tall, 2-foot-thick base walls
• Almost 5 million cubic feet of pressurized air support the dome
• 175 tons of pulverized tires create the turf infill
• One lap around the dome is about ¼ mile
• In addition to renters, over 35,000 people use the dome for walking, jogging, and play each year

Rent the Facility

The dome is available for rent on a first-come, first-served basis. Last-minute and late-night rentals are subject to staff availability.

Rental Requirements

Rentals require a signed rental agreement, insurance, and payment, including damage deposit, at the time of booking. Tax-exempt organizations must provide an ST3 or ST17 form, and both Minnesota and IRS determination letters. Payment needs to be made by the official Tax Exempt organization to qualify as a tax-exempt payment (ie, individual teams cannot use a team/personal check or credit card to make payment)

All users shall, during scheduled rentals  and at no expense to City or representatives, maintain the following types of insurance:

1. General Liability Insurance, with a limit of $1,500,000 for any number of claims arising out of a single occurrence.  Such policy shall add the City of West Saint Paul and SFDMG LLC as an additional insured;
2. Workers’ Compensation and Employer’s Liability Insurance for all of the User’s officers, agents, and employees, as required by law;
3. If the user is unable to secure the above, a signed liability waiver may be accepted.
